The Arkansas National Guard Foundation (ANGF) through its endowment maintains funds to award annual scholarships to the primary next of kin, including parents, surviving spouses, (so long as they remain unmarried until the age 55), and children (under the age of 23) of Arkansas National Guard members who lose their lives during the term of their enlistment regardless of duty status, or manner of death are eligible to apply for scholarships awarded by the ANGF Survivor Scholarship Program. Siblings of fallen service members eligible if there was a loco parent’s relationship.

The scholarships may be used for any and all college expenses. A scholarship selection committee reviews applications and awards scholarships based on guidelines provided by the board of directors of each association and the endowment. Prerequisites to apply for the scholarships are:

  • The primary next of kin of armed service members who lose their lives during the term of their enlistment. This includes parents, surviving spouses, (so long as they remain unmarried until the age 55), and children (under the age of 23). Siblings of fallen service members eligible if there was a loco parent’s relationship.

  • Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full time or part time in undergraduate program leading to a bachelor’s degree or to a junior college in a program of study that leads to an associated degree or a certificate in a trade (CNA, CDL, HVAC, STEM, Welding, etc.)

  • Applications must be accompanied by a DD 1300, Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card or other documentation of the Deceased Service members military status at the time of death.

Scholarships apply to full time enrollment at in-state or out-of-state colleges, two or four-year colleges, graduate school or vocational training. Five $1000 scholarships will be awarded for the academic year 2024-2025.
